5 Tips For Healthier Skin

5 Tips For Healthier Skin

It’s important to take care of your skin, whether you’re young and have healthy skin or older and seeing signs of aging. We’ve put together five important tips that will help you get healthier skin that shines. Don’t forget that consistency is important!

DRINK MORE WATER

It’s important to keep your skin hydrated by drinking enough water every day. What’s the right amount of water to drink? WebMD says that you should aim to drink between half an ounce and an ounce of water for every pound you weigh. If you weigh 170 pounds, try to drink between 85 and 170 ounces of water every day.

GET RID OF DEAD SKIN

Exfoliation is a no-brainer. It gets rid of dry and dead skin cells and improves blood flow, revealing healthy skin that glows. Use a loofah every day to keep ingrown hair and dry, flaky skin under control. This is the best way to exfoliate your skin and keep it healthy. Scrub bumpy or flaky skin gently in a circle while you’re in the shower to get rid of dead skin cells.

TAKE SHORT, ROOM-TEMPERATURE SHOWERS

Even though a long, hot shower may feel great and help your muscles relax, it can be bad for your skin. Healthline says that hot showers can make your skin dry and itchy. Hot water dries out the skin and makes conditions like eczema worse. Take shorter, lukewarm showers to keep your skin healthy and happy.

APPLY SPF SUNSCREEN DAILY

UV rays are bad for our skin, which we all know. You can protect yourself from UV rays by putting sunscreen on your face and any other skin that is exposed to the sun every day. Make sure to find something with at least SPF 30 and put it on. We love to use ELTA MD UV CLEAR BROAD-SPECTRUM SPF 46 at Bergen County Hair Removal. Putting on sunscreen may seem like a hassle, but it will help you get healthier skin in a big way.

KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF YOUR FACE

In general, this is a good rule of thumb, especially now that COVID-19 and other germs are spreading. During the day, your hands touch many things and pick up dirt and germs. When you touch your face, everything on your hands goes on your face, too. It’s easier said than done to keep your hands off your face, but once you make it a habit, you’ll be on your way to healthier skin.

So, there you have it: five ways to keep your skin healthy. Find a partner who will keep you on track, and don’t let each other skip your morning or evening routines. Consistency is key!
